About Me.

I began my dance journey at the age of four, training in Chinese classical and ethnic/folk dance. Over the years, I broadened my training to include Ballet, Contemporary, Lyrical, Studio Jazz, and Acro. I grew up dancing in competitive studios and graduated from both Zhaoli Dance School and the pre-professional ballet program at Edge Studios.
Currently, I am in my third year at the University of Calgary, pursuing a dual degree in Kinesiology and Dance. I am also a Pan American Chinese Dance Alliance member and have completed the Chinese Folk and Ethnic Dance Teacher Training Course (Levels 4–9). Additionally, I have achieved the Royal Academy of Dance Advanced 2 Ballet exam, the Associated Dance Arts for Professional Teachers Jazz exams up to Intermediate 1, and am a certified Progressive Ballet Technique instructor (Levels 1–3). I am also working toward the Healthy Dance Practice Certificate to further integrate wellness and injury prevention into my teaching.
Beyond academics, I have served as Vice President of Finance for the UC Dance Company for two years and will be stepping into the role of Co-President in the coming year. Over the past four years, I have had the privilege of teaching Chinese Dance, Ballet, and Contemporary to students aged 10–15 at Zhaoli Dance School.
As a dance educator, I am passionate about creating supportive and empowering spaces for dancers. I hope to share my love of movement, and help every student reach their fullest potential.
